The drive from central Houston to Galveston takes approximately 50 to 60 minutes via I-45 South, and your driver-guide shares the island’s fascinating history along the way — from its days as the largest city in Texas to the devastating 1900 hurricane that reshaped the island and its culture forever.

Once on the island, your tour includes stops at the most iconic Galveston destinations. The Strand District is the island’s historic commercial center, featuring beautifully restored Victorian-era buildings that now house shops, restaurants, art galleries, and the legendary La King’s Confectionery where you can watch saltwater taffy being made by hand.
